Shared

Dan Howard   -

We relate to the world by the things we see, do and touch. One of the most powerful things we get to encounter comes in what is called a shared experience. A shared experience is the very essence of a relationship. Something done together that serves as the foundation for all future encounters of a relationship. Good memories keep a relationship strong through rocky times and troubles waters. Difficult experiences make the love we have for each other tangible and visible. And that is a major spiritual aspect of Easter. Shared Experiences.
Let’s look at Romans 6:3-10 (ESV)

Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self[a]was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. For one who has died has been set free[b] from sin. Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. 10 For the death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God.

Easter is the ultimate shared experience. On the cross God bound our sin to Jesus.
In the empty tomb God binds our lives to Christ’s eternal life.
He is our living hope.

And so this week is a week of remembrance and celebration. The Lord has RISEN!

He is Risen Indeed!

Alleluia, Amen.

See you Sunday,
